How to Use Essential Oils in Unexpected Places

Some of the most common uses for essential oils are pretty obvious, like freshening the air in your home by adding a few drops to a diffuser or adding splash of pure essential oils into your bath for a soothing soak.

However, essential oils have many benefits and uses that are less obvious that extend to the office, gym and beyond. Here are some easy—yet effective—ways to use essential oils in unexpected places:

At the Office

Even if you love your job, it probably brings you some amount of stress from time to time. And let’s face it, most offices aren’t exactly cozy, relaxing or inviting. There are some great ways to combat these negative aspects of your work life and essential oils can help in a big way. Here’s how:

Hold a bottle near your nose for a lift

Breathe in the soothing scents of DeStress or Focus when you’re having a tough moment or really need to concentrate on completing a daunting task.

Dab a few drops on your wrists or hands

Before a big meeting or asking for a raise/promotion, inhale some Energy or Motivation to help you get your game face on.

Freshen breath

You probably eat and drink throughout the day at work, which can leave your mouth feeling less than fresh. A few drops of Peppermint essential oil under the tongue can fix that!

Add to water

Sipping water while sitting at your desk all day is an easy way to stay hydrated, but sometimes plain water can seem anything but appealing. Add a few drops of Grapefruit, Lemon or Orange Miracle Essential Oils to help you savor your sips.

Freshen the air

Make your own spray air freshener by adding a small amount of water, rubbing alcohol or vanilla extract and anywhere from 5-20 drops of your favorite essential oil (or a combination) to the Miracle Mister Spray Bottle. Shake well and spray to freshen your office’s air.

At the Gym

Getting the motivation to work out can be tough (especially after a long day at the office or watching the kids), but adding some of your favorite essential oils to your routine can give you that extra boost. Here’s how to use essential oils when you work out:

On sore and tense muscles

Apply a few drops of Lavender or Peppermint essential oils directly onto your skin after a tough workout to promote proper muscle function and healthy skin appearance.

Hydrate

Just like in the office, hydrating before, during and after a workout is important. Add a few drops of Grapefruit, Lemon or Orange Essential Oils to get and stay hydrated.

Spice up your smoothie

Add a little extra boost of flavor and nutrition to your post-workout smoothies with a few drops of Lemon, Orange or Peppermint essential oils.

Whether you’re at work or working out, Miracle Essential Oils can play a key role in making your routine more effective and enjoyable in unexpected ways. And if you’re looking to use essential oils for relaxation, we’ve got the guide on turning your home into a spa.
